FOLLOW OUR SIMPLE GUIDE TO APPLY FOR A 401 FOUNDATION RIGHT NOW

  • Step 1 - Is there funding available?

Using our Regional Map, find out if there is any money in your regional grant pot.

If there is you can move to step 2. If there isn’t, you will need to wait until there are funds available before applying for a grant.

Your project will need to be within one of the several counties listed under your chosen grant pot. All applications will be checked to ensure this is the case. Any applications that don’t follow this rule will automatically be rejected.

Remember your local community project can only make one successful grant application every 2 years, this gives us the best and fairest chance of supporting many different projects throughout the UK

  • Step 2 - Set up a 401 Foundation Account

Once you have clicked ‘Apply for a Grant‘ you will be prompted to set up a ‘My 401 Account

This account will be used to communicate the progress of your application. You need to use your local community project’s details to set up the account, however, you can use your own name, telephone number and email as a contact.

  • Step 3 - The Application Form

Once you have created your ‘My 401 Account‘ you will be taken directly to our ‘Grant Application Form

The form will ask you for personal details of the individual applying for the grant, information about your local community project and then it will give you a chance to answer 4 questions based around our grant criteria, these include:

Confidence, Self-esteem, Mental Health, and Self Development

Once you have completed the online form, click ‘SUBMIT‘. You will receive a confirmation email to say it has been submitted and you will be able to access your ‘My 401 Account‘ to check the progress of your application.

  • Step 4 - Analysis of Application

All applications will be assessed based on our criteria and scored appropriately

Please note that final decisions will be made on a quarterly basis and results communicated through your ‘My 401 Account‘.

  • Step 5 - Accepted or Rejected

If your application is ‘Rejected‘, we will endeavour to give you a reason for this. Please note if the reason for rejection is ‘Insufficient funds‘ we will automatically carry your application forward into the next quarter.

If your application is ‘Accepted‘ we will contact you directly using the information we have stored for you to organise the transfer of funds. At this stage, you will sign our Grant Contract and Terms and Conditions.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us and one of our team will be in touch to answer your question

Thank you for your support
